A time will come when your Windows 10 PC will start lagging or start acting abnormally; making you want to either sell it or perform a factory reset.

Well, Here’s how to use the command prompt to format your Windows 10 computer and you don’t have to press any special button to achieve that.

>> Firstly, go to the search box type “Command Prompt” and click on It to launch it.

>> Now, in the command prompt, type the below command and hit ENTER

systemreset --factoryreset

>> Now two options will be provided;

  • Keep my files
  • Remove Everything

>> Here, you can choose to either remove apps and settings while keeping your files, or you can remove everything. If you want to sell your laptop, you should remove everything.

>> Next, you’ll be asked if you want to clean the drives too (takes much time tho) or if you just want to remove your files. performing the latter makes it more difficult for someone to recover those files—but it’s not impossible.

>> Finally, Click on “Reset”  to begin the PC reset process.

When the factory reset process is complete, the initial setup screen will appear as if you’ve just got a brand-new PC.

That’s all.

If you’re planning on selling your laptop then I’d advise you not only to factory reset it but that you also find a way to perform a data backup, reinstall the Operating system, and more…
